Collaboration Terms

Because we highly value our viewers, the locations we visit, and the integrity of our channel, we have set some conditions regarding collaborations. Nothing exciting—just an overview of what you can expect in this area.

General

  • We decide for ourselves which parties and/or individuals we collaborate with, based on our sponsorship policy. In short: an organization must be based in the Netherlands or have a Dutch branch or supplier. If it concerns a product, we must also want to use it ourselves.
  • When Bart talks about a product, he mentions both its strengths and any points for improvement. It’s not a comprehensive review highlighting only USPs; the story is based on actual use. For example, he might say that a certain number of home batteries isn’t enough for a whole house, but is good to start with. Or that you won’t find all books in an online audiobook library, but you will find the ones relevant to the video. So, we remain realistic in our communications.
  • We always check the “paid partnership” option on YouTube whenever a video contains a sponsored message, even if the entire video is sponsored. We are required to do this.

Integration in an Episode

  • In the case of an integration (a short sponsored message) in an episode of Weet Je Dat Ook Weer, a bar will always appear on screen showing how much longer the sponsored message will last. This makes it feel shorter for the viewer, because by the time they find the right moment to skip, the message is already over. Displaying a bar encourages people to watch the sponsored message more often and for longer.

Fully Sponsored Video

  • In the case of a fully sponsored video, no bar will appear, of course.
  • Bart will always mention at the beginning of the video that we are collaborating with the company, so viewers know it’s a sponsored collaboration.
  • The video must never be promotional. Mentioning and showing the brand and logos is, of course, not a problem.

Livestream

A livestream works a bit differently than a regular video as described above. Since a livestream is live, we don’t use pre-made material. Here’s how it works:

  • Within the first 10 minutes of the livestream, Bart will mention the sponsor and read the pre-agreed script.
  • We will show the product live on camera while using it.
  • We can never exclude the possibility that Bart might mention competing products or brands during the livestream. This will never happen during the sponsored message.
  • In a livestream, we cannot use videos sent in advance; only the script can be agreed upon beforehand, and the rest happens live in the stream.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Bart. You should have his details.
